What Can I Do If My Brother Is Abusing His POA Over My Mother?

If your mother lives under the care of one of your siblings, and you have found yourself only able to communicate with your parent at random times, or have information about your mother only if granted by your sister, then there are reasons to be concerned.

Florida has adult protective services programs that allow you to, “drop a dime” by calling one of them to investigate. You can do this anonymously, but a sibling who is nefarious in his dealings with a parent will be suspicious of everyone and he may well put two and two together.

Nevertheless, If your brother is her POA and executor & negatively influences your mother and has turned her against other family members, there is something you can do about it.
